You feel great when you help in any relief work. The experience I share here validates it.
I have already mentioned in my earlier post that I shall be retiring on May 31, 2020. Who does not want to retire gracefully and peacefully? No harm if I wish to. But you know the reality always differs from wishful thinking. What is the real situation? The actual situation Corona and lockdown have created have already taken away such grace and peace from my life.
Amphan Cyclone
All of you know how the super cyclone- Amphan devasted West Bengal on May 20, 2020. As a result, it affected the North and south 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur and Kolkata most.
The day of the super cyclone and the next day, I worried much about my relatives at East Midnapore and Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas. The evening of the next day, I could come to know that all of them are safe. The hardship they are facing now due to the nonavailability of electricity and water made my mind anxious.
The cyclone had landed on Ganga Sagar. So it was the worst hit. Many groups and NGOs are helping the affected people.
My wife came to know one such group from Asansol. The group will collect dry foods from the citizen of Asansol and hand over the same to R.K.mission, Ganga Sagar, for giving relief to the affected.
So we purchased some quantity of dry foods and handed over to the group. The little efforts on our part can feed the affected people for a few days. So we felt good. I felt some relief in my mind. My anxiety dropped down.
Today also I donated a small amount of my earning to the Amphan relief fund of Ramakrishna Mission in https://donations.belurmath.org/.
These small bits of help may change the lives of the affected people. I felt good.
Can these small bits of help bring back some grace the pandemic situation took? You can also uplift your mood like this. You feel great when you help in any such relief work.
That’s a very kind act to do. Happy retired life, sir!
Thank you so much for your best wishes.
